Resurrection PREP Volunteer Information

Your Parish Religious Education Program at Resurrection Church is dependent on volunteers, both teaching and non-teaching.

In the school year 2018/19 we had 150 volunteer Catechists and many non-teaching volunteers who contributed to the success of the program. We are very grateful to these dedicated people and invite you to contribute to the religious education experience either in the classroom as a Catechist, Co-Catechist, or Aide, or as a non-teaching volunteer to provide the best learning environment for all our students.

We are sometimes in need of volunteers with Special Education training so if you are in that field we would love to hear from you.

Steps Required to Volunteer for PREP

  1. Complete the online PREP Volunteer Registration Form.  The form will allow you to specify your interest area and include any comments you would like to make. Once you submit the form, you will receive a confirmation email that will outline the required next steps in the process.
  2. Submit an Archdiocesan non-financial Background Check Form and a Safe Environment Questionnaire (STEP 2 DETAILS)
  3. Complete a 40 minute training session entitled 'Safer Spaces' and review Annual Briefing (STEP 3 DETAILS)

PREP Tuition Fees for Children of Volunteers:

  2. Co-Catechists receive a 50% discount on tuition fees. Co-Catechists commit to teaching every second week, or together with another co-catechist every week.
  3. Permanent volunteers (those who commit to a minimum of 30 sessions per year, and fulfill roles such as lobby receptionists, hall monitors, child minders for catechist children etc.) receive a 50% discount on tuition fees.
